History
Established 1873.
Sugar cane manufacturer Tatuzinho did start in 1952 production of cachaca. In 1970 was lanunched 3 Fazendas. In 1970 Tatuzinho acquired another big producer Velho Barreiro.
Like all processes, over the years, the basic principle of distillation in the production of sugar cane rum underwent changes. Set up in 1952, sugar cane manufacturer Tatuzinho would be the forerunner of one of the most famous brand names in Brazil, creating a real landmark in the history of local distilled drinks in the Brazilian market.
In 1970, with the launching of 3 Fazendas sugar cane rum, together they began to become established as reference points in the industry, demonstrating the concern with quality present over the last 25 years.
And thus IRB came on the scene – Indústrias Reunidas de Bebidas Tatuzinho – 3 Fazendas Ltda., in Rio Claro, in the interior of the State of Sao Paulo, soon to become one of the main industrial manufacturers of sugar cane rum in the country, with the construction of industrial storage vats with a capacity of millions of litres.
In 1975, with the acquisition of Velho Barreiro, another well-known make of sugar cane rum, IRB would again be celebrating the success of a product which in a very short time, would lead the ranking of sugar cane rums in Brazil, incorporating a complete logistical and industrial reform of the liquid conducting ducts, together with a high degree of standardisation of quality control, in respect for the requirements of the customer, and at the same time, retaining, in spite of all the modern equipment, the great wooden barrels where the product rests and ages awaiting the right moment for bottling. The industry also has the benefit of the latest hi-tech equipment, of European origin, for washing, sterilising and processing the cleaning of millions of litres per year, guaranteeing the quality of the product in accordance with international standards.
