HistoryJEYPORE Sugar Company Ltd has acquired the Chagallu distillery of Nizam Sugars Ltd for Rs 9 crore making it the first State-level enterprise unit to be sold and handed over to a private bidder under the aegis of the Implementation Secretariat.
Jeypore Sugar, which pipped the next highest bid of Bhopal-based Som Distilleries, has agreed to absorb all the 55 employees on pay scales and facilities available to them under the management of Nizam Sugars Ltd.
