History
According to older labels the company was established in 1779.
Amongst the oldest and the best-known rum brands from Flensburg are Balle (since 1717), Sonnberg (1781), Pott (1848) and Hansen (1868). But all of these brands are not produced in Flensburg anymore.
Almost all of the rum producers moved away. Asmussen, Hansen, Andresen and Old Schmidt belong now to the Dethleffsen Group, which belongs since several years to Berentzen - and Berentzen (I believe…) concentrated the production to the Bremen region.
