Longueteau Rum is made in the distillery Esperance - Mon Repos since 1895 by Paul Henri Longueteau. Distributed under two labels: Longueteau Rhum especially for export, and Mon Repos Rhum for local distribution.
Rich by the history of his domain that was set up in Marquisate under Louis XIV: Marquisate de Sainte-Marie. This domain which known various fortunes between sugar, the coffee and the manioc, is repurchased in 1890 by Louis Philippe Henri Longueteau.
Rich by the history of the distillery that replaces since 1895 the sugar refinery. It will crush sugar cane until in the Sixties thanks to the paddle. Since, the waterwheel at summer replaced by the steam engine which makes it possible for the distillery to be mainly autonomous on the energy level.
